The fall 2026 Broadway season, counted from opening nights on the published calendar, comes to 16 productions between August 25 and December 6.

The count is openings, not first previews. Several fall titles were listed in preview guides by their first-performance dates, which moves a show two to three weeks earlier than its opening. A Few Good Men is the clearest case: previews began October 8, the opening is October 29.

The calendar

August 25: Paranormal Activity, August Wilson Theatre.

September 28: School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

October 18: Other Desert Cities, Hudson Theatre. October 21: 860, Imperial Theatre. October 22: The Imaginary Invalid, Todd Haimes Theatre. October 29: A Few Good Men, Vivian Beaumont Theater.

November 8: Wanted, James Earl Jones Theatre. November 9: Here There Are Blueberries, Ethel Barrymore Theatre. November 11: Now You See Me Live, Al Hirschfeld Theatre. November 15: Downstate, Booth Theatre. November 16: The Fantasticks, Hayes Theater. November 17: Blue Man Group: A New Holiday Surprise, Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. November 18: It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Broadhurst Theatre. November 19: Much Ado About Nothing, Winter Garden Theatre.

December 1: Inter Alia, Music Box Theatre. December 6: Galileo, Shubert Theatre.

One more production starts inside the window without opening in it: Dolly: A True Original Musical begins previews December 7 at the St. James and opens January 19, 2027.

The shape of the season

Only three of the 16 are new musicals in the conventional sense: Wanted, the Clarke sisters musical at the James Earl Jones; The Fantasticks, Second Stage's reconceived production at the Hayes, a Broadway premiere for a show first produced Off-Broadway in 1960; and Galileo at the Shubert, with Raúl Esparza and Joy Woods.

The rest of the calendar is plays, revivals, solo work and specials. The play list runs to nine titles, counting Paranormal Activity: School Girls, Other Desert Cities, The Imaginary Invalid, A Few Good Men, Here There Are Blueberries, Downstate, Much Ado About Nothing and Inter Alia make eight alongside it. 860 is Billy Crystal's solo show. Now You See Me Live and the Blue Man Group holiday show are specials built for set runs. It's a Wonderful Life is a radio-play staging.

Star casting is the season's commercial engine, and the calendar shows where it sits. Other Desert Cities opened October 18 with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Harris, Allison Janney, Joe Keery and Lily Rabe, and posted a $290.35 average ticket in its first full week, the highest on Broadway. Much Ado About Nothing pairs Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell at the Winter Garden. Inter Alia is built around Rosamund Pike. A Few Good Men pairs Tom Blyth with Bradley Whitford.

Limited means limited

Most of the fall class arrived with an end date attached. School Girls closes November 15. The Imaginary Invalid closes November 22. Now You See Me Live, the Blue Man Group holiday show and It's a Wonderful Life end January 3, 2027. A Few Good Men, Here There Are Blueberries, Downstate and Much Ado About Nothing end January 10. Other Desert Cities ends January 17. Inter Alia is announced through February 21, 2027, and The Fantasticks through February 7, 2027. Paranormal Activity, first listed to January 3, has been extended to February 28, 2027.

Wanted is the fall opening billed as an open-ended run. No closing date for Galileo appeared in the calendar listings checked for this piece.

That structure has a spring consequence. Between the fall closings and the January 3 departures of & Juliet, SIX and Stranger Things: The First Shadow, at least eight Broadway houses come open between late November and mid-January. The spring 2027 calendar already in print fills several of them: Dirty Dancing takes the Lena Horne, Damn Yankees the Marquis, Evita the Winter Garden.

The fall season's last opening on the calendar is Galileo at the Shubert on December 6.
