Opened in 1921 as the National Theatre, on a site previously used as a carpenter's shop. It was renamed the Billy Rose Theatre in 1959 and the David T. Nederlander Theatre in 1980. Rent played the house for its full 12-year Broadway run, and it is the southernmost Broadway theatre.
The house is in the Theater District, within walking distance of the Times Square-42nd Street subway and transit hub.
